I'd like to buy a large new van for private use; will I have to pay VAT if I don't have a VAT number?

Hi Tony,

Yes, I’m afraid so. In fact, even if you were VAT-registered, you’d still have to pay the VAT up front and reclaim it in a subsequent VAT return.
