How to work out private tax rates for commercial vehicles?

Hi folks

I’m looking to buy a minivan preferably long-wheelbase for private use around home. Is there a resource available to check private tax rates for such vans? E.g. a Volkswagen Caddy 1.6 diesel or Nissan NV200?

Hi Cian,

Regardless of registration date, if you change the use of a commercial vehicle to private, the annual motor tax rate goes by the engine size, not the CO2 emissions. It’s a strange quirk of our tax system.
