Factory produced Dropside now available in Renault Master range.

Renault’s popular Master Dropside model is now available as a factory-made model, and can be bought ‘off-the-shelf.’

Huge range of bodies

Renault’s PRO+ commercial vehicle operations is now making the Dropside as a factory original, as well as the Tipper, Luton Box Van and Luton Low Loader conversions, and of course the regular Master Crew Van, Panel Van and electric Master Z.E. Don’t worry though, for more bespoke options you can still buy the Master and the Master Z.E. in chassis-cab format so that you can fit a body of your own design.

The Master Dropside comes with 400mm high aluminium panels on both side, which — of course — hinge down so that you can more easily load and unload. Renault says that the arrangement is perfect for use in grounds maintenance, timber merchants, building supplies and scaffolding companies, and many more.

Tail-lift optional

There are also rear-corner pillars included in the design, so that you can easily fit a restraint system, for people working in the load-bed, or a tailgate lift. In fact, a tail-lift can be optionally ordered with the vehicle as an original factory fit.

A total of three load lengths are available to customers: Medium (ML), Long (LL) and Extra-long (LLL) wheelbases with a crew cab option also available for those looking for extra passenger accommodation. Up to 4,300mm of load length is available on the Master Dropside, and it’ll carry up to 1,664kg payload.

Four engine choices

A hot-galvanised steel front side panel and platform, plus anti-slip wooden floor are standard on all versions, with a steel cab protecting grid with an object rack perfect for long items such as ladders.

The engine line-up consists of the 2.2-litre dCi diesel engine in either 130, 135, ‘Energy’ 145, or ‘Energy’ 150 versions, with a choice of front- or rear-wheel drive. There’s also the option of a twin-wheel rear setup. All versions come with a full manufacturer’s three-year, 160,000km warranty.
